Rockport disappointment
I bought this shoe to replace my old World Tour Classic, hoping that it would be something similar. It turned out to be far from it. It does not have a strong support on the sides, nor does it have the orthopedic support. It is certainly not "engineered" to fit well.
Similar in shape but much inferior in quality, perhaps this was thought as a cheap alternative to the WTC. It's no wonder that Rockport does not advertise it on its own website.
In the end, I ended up buying another pair of WTC. I wonder why Rockport has such a model in the first place.
rockport review
The best shoe on the market for walking/standing. I am on my feet for 8 hrs or more a day as a bank guard. Very comfortable and shock absorbing. Feet and legs feel good after a shift. Not my first pair and will not be my last. A 60 year old could not ask for any better.
Great shoe for most work environments.
I had a pair of these ten years ago. Since then I went through a pair of closed-toe sandals and then beige sneakers, and have come full-circle. Current job involves work under raised floor tiles in a computer room, so the sandals were out (those were to keep me cool temperature-wise, btw), and I didn't think either the sandals or sneakers were professional enough (last site was closing so nobody cared about the professional part; this site is permanent).
Original reason for buying the first pair of Rockports was that Niel Piert mentioned them in his book "Ghost Rider" as the kind he wore when he had a blind date; I figured they couldn't be too bad with that kind of endorsement.
